If you have read one, you'll get the idea, if not, please scroll down!!!

It's nearly time for Water Bridge's Christmas play! I don't know what to do- for a start; my new best friend (Not Tally, my ex-friend.), Amy really wants me to try out with her for this high school play. What should I do? For a start; I'm not even sure if I want to, but mom's also egging me to do it. So, I sign up. My Uncle Phil is inviting me to his farm to go horse-riding on the exact day of the Christmas Play! What could I DO?!!! HELP!!!

Meanwhile, so has my ex-friend, Tally, Melanie and Janine, slobs are also signing up and they're trying their best to ruin my chances for me but things change. Now Tally's (My ex-friend for three terms!) sorry for ganging up on me and wants to be friends again but that means I earn back a friend…and lose one again… what can I DO???? HELP! Middle school is turning into a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!

Chapter 1

90+90=9 times 9+ 99=1 times 2 times 59=?

This is stupid. Long algebra sucks, so, thanks to Mrs. Daniels, my math teachers in third period, suggesting us to take a super long math test, I end up flunk it. I wish we could work with partners. My friend, Amy, (After a massive fight Tally and I had three terms ago.) who is a math freak; she is so good at math, I wish she could help me. I glance at the clock on the right-side of the wall- 9:36.a.m. C'mon, brain, think!!! I'm still up to the last question, thinking hard… "Times up!" Mrs. Daniel's voice booms up. I flinch. Great, I'll be like one of those fish in a pond, not knowing what to do. "That was easy!" Amy cried, wiping her hands on her jeans. I shrug and looked at the clock again and sigh. There was two more minutes until lunch…which means I have to face cafeteria food. I am lucky mom packed me my lunch. The bell rings. Great. I have to face my ex-friend; Tally, and her posh little friends, Melanie and Janine.

"Ew! Are we supposed to eat this?" Amy shrieks at the mushed beans, that have turned into gooey liquid and the mashed potato and pumpkin also mushed into liquid. I carry my tray and sigh at Amy. "Come on, Am. Hurry up and make your choice of food so we can get a free table!" I urge Amy every time in the caf. Amy kinda looks like a cool nerd. I mean, blue jeans, dangling green shirt and big, thick glasses and her auburn hair is in wild curls. Suddenly, I feel something mushy when Amy and I walk to a free table. Something mashed and mushed… I look over my shoulder and down below; I cannot believe it- a blob of mashed liquid potato and pumpkin was all over my butt jeans, mashed so much. I heard a few boys whistle and snicker as I walk pass. Tally and Melanie and Janine- I should've known. "Don't get it seriously, Kit," Amy tries to tell me as we walk to the grass area. "It was just a joke: Melanie and her drones getting attention!" I shrug and grumble-that was NOT helping. Suddenly, Melanie pumped infront of us, looking tanned, healthy and fierce, but she's laughing with Janine and Tally. "Ha-ha! You look like a mashed liquid coloring in the caf! You know, some people have some raw talent, like me- don't you know that there's a Christmas play coming along? Auditions are on Tuesday and please, Kitrina, don't let me down, please sign up! I'm sure you'll be a beauty!" she says in a fake girly girl voice. She's acting like she's my mother. "Yeah? You want me to enter?" I say, walking on with Amy. Amy pulls me away from them but Melanie, Janine and Tally weren't far behind. "Nope," says Janine a short time later, her red hair glittering in sunlight. "Not Mel! Ha! You thought it was Mel, didn't you? Well, it wasn't! Tally wants you to sign up! You'll blow them away! Ha!" I ignore them and walk on. But now, I'm confused. Why does Tally want me to sign up?

Chapter 2

"Well, it sounds like a great thing to do, Kitty, why don't you?"

"No, mom, please!"

"Well, it's such a great experience! C'mon, don't be shy!"

"I don't want to!"

"You will, cos' I'm signing you up!"

"No mom, PLEASE!"

Mom sighs, looking tired. She wants me to sign up this morning. It's Tuesday, audition day. I'm still in my jammies but mom is killing me. "Fine, Kitrina Thomas! Why don't we make a fine deal? You don't have to do your chores for one week if you sign up!" mum snaps. I jump up and down. "Yessssssss!" I yell at the top of my voice. A week with no chores! But then I remember-the play. I sigh and say goodbye to mom and catch the bus. Amy's signing up, too. "It's going to be SO cool, in fact! I heard that the Christmas play is based on a musical; I think it was High School Musical 2! Or was it 3?" Amy's totally cyclone about this Christmas musical. I grumble, in a moody way as the bus left us near the high school gates. Amy was trying to lighten me up. "C'mon!" she snaps. I sigh and just got on with it. The last thing I needed was to sing solo. Auditions were at 9 so there was five minutes. Amy pulls me to the music room theater. I look around. A big stage, three hundred chairs, red curtains, a bunch of other kids trying out and Omigod, there was Tally!!! Tally, my ex-friend who hangs out with girly girl Janine and Melanie! Amy's still pulling me to join onto the stage. Mrs. Vase, the director of the High School Musical 2 and 3 mix musical gave each and everyone our scripts. Once I got on, I walk over to Tally and show her the script. I was playing Gabriella, which was a main, and it means singing, which I HATE! "You're trying to do something, aren't you, Tally? Cos' if you are, I bet you need to suck it up and stop it! Do you understand me? Just stop! You were the one who arranged the scripts, aren't you? I was supposed to play Kelsi, obviously but I bet that you SNUCK in and arranged them!" my voice is going higher by second. I cannot believe I didn't realize it. Tally's eyes are full of tears. Dan and Sam, who were also auditioning were watching. But one IQ: Do they have to? I look again at the papers. I have to sing two songs and one more with everyone. Great. That was ALL I needed. Two solo songs. "OK, OK! People, you all know who you are playing! So, may I please have Gabriella on stage at the front to sing the first song?" Mrs. Vase is saying. I felt myself flinch. I look across the wing-Melanie and Janine was there. They're not auditioning, obviously but they are here to make their 'plan' in action for me to humiliate myself. I hear Mrs. Vase play that song on the piano. I didn't know what to do. Everyone there was watching me. I only sang three lines.

"But every color turns to grey

I'm leaving today, but I gotta do what's best for me

You'll be OK…"

Though it's really hard to mess up your lines so I tried my best to mess up in the chorus.

"I've gotta move on now and be who I am?

I just don't belong herreerrrre?

I LOPE do understand?"

But of course, I get away with it Everytime. Amy got the part of Taylor, and she's not happy about it. "I want to play Sharpay!" she told me when we had our lunch outside. "Tough luck," I tell her. "Melanie egged Mrs. Vase to sign up for the last minute so Melanie has Sharpay. Oh, and don't worry, you'll be great being Taylor. Think about it: only one song to sing that's NOT solo. Fewer lines but still, Amy doesn't get my point. Tally is playing Kelsi, because she has top marks in piano. I'm still thinking about quitting this Christmas play.

Chapter 3

I got a letter from Tally right now, this morning near the lockers. No, in MY locker, there was a note written in very pretty pink gel pen. It was Tally's writing. When I read it, I hear her usual friendly voice reading. That time when we were friends for so long…until now.

Dear
Kit,

I'm very sorry that I had ganged up on Melanie and Janine. I don't think that they like me anymore. I guess you were right- girly girl stuff, make-up, clothes and boys and hair is so not my thing! Mel got angry at me for not accepting her to paint my fingernails pink and take away a manicure. I really want to be best friends with you again but the problem is with Amy. I don't much like her and you know, she's a nerd. A math freak. I hate hanging out with her. What about you? I thought at the beginning of middle school you said that Amy was a nerd and she looks weird and nerdy and you know… so, I bet hanging out with her is just not good. After all, you said so yourself. Anyway, I am so sorry about the thing three terms ago. It was bad. Mel doesn't even like me anymore. Please be my friend. (Just not with Amy!)

Love, Tally

I couldn't believe this letter. This was the words that I wanted to hear a long time ago, before Amy came. I was happy with happy, cheerful tears. Even when the bell rang for fifth period, I was just still and stiff. "Oh, so I'm a nerd and I'm a weird math freak?" a voice pops up behind me. I gag and spin around. It's Amy, looking sad and teary. "Amy!" I say, surprised. Just then, Dan pops up beside me and grins. "Hi Kit! Are you going to rehearsal this afternoon?" he asks cheerfully, his brown hair shining. I look at him then at Amy. I had completely forgotten about the musical Christmas play. "Dan. I-I I'll tell you about it later, OK?" I say to him. He nods and goes away with his friend, Sam. The school corridor locker area is quiet with only Amy and I. "Forget it!" Amy whispers tearfully. I gasped as she walks quickly away to our math class. "Wait, Amy! I can explain!" I shout after her. But it's too late. She's made a run for it. I picture that image in my mind again. Amy's eyes were full of tears bursting to come out. Instead of going to my math class, I go to the loos. I cry and cry and cry. Middle school is totally turning up on me!

Chapter 4

I talk to mom about it. "I just don't know what to do! Amy's mad at me because I said she was a math freak and nerd last term but that's just because I was trying to be best friends with Tally, too! But when Tally and I broke up, I got Amy as a friend and just act normal but when I got that letter from Tally…things change. Especially since she saw that letter!" I cry to mom. Mom sighs and says, "Well, I see that you're trying too hard to be friends with both of them. Give both of them a rest for a day or two and both will chill out. Especially Amy, since she's mad and Tally's sad and hopeful of you being her friend again so, go find some other friends to hang out with, OK?" I nod and sigh and look out the window. I think about the solution mom gave me. But if I make new friends; won't I be best friends with the new friends? It was all so confusing.

Its lunch and Amy's totally ignoring me. First, I had to try my own plan. I had to explain to Amy. I follow her into the caf. "Amy, wait!" I yell. She snatches a tray from the rack and lines up. I got a tray too and lined up behind her. "Amy, I'm sorry…" I start but then she interrupts. "Don't talk to me!" she yells loudly. I put my head down. Dan was next to me, lining up. "What a coincidence," I mutter under my breath. "What was that?" Dan asks, curiously. "Nothing," I mutter back. Amy's gone to find a table to sit on. I look around anxiously for Tally. No sign of her. Instead, I go to Melanie and Janine's table and bang my tray on it. Janine was painting Melanie's nails a lilac color. "Where's Tally?" I glare at them suspiciously. "Oh really?" says Melanie innocently. "She's in the toilets sobbing like a reckless baby. All we care!" Janine adds smartly, fixing her perfect red hair and fringe. I gasp while they giggle. I race to the toilets to find Tally. She was in there, sobbing and gasping in a toilet cubicle. I knock on the loo door. "Tally?" I say quietly. I hear more crying. Hard ones. I had more problems to deal with. Suddenly my mobile phone starts ringing. Oh, now what? I look at the flash message. Hey, Kitty! How about a trip to my farm on Friday? GOES HORSE RIDING!!! YOU'RE FAVE THING! Uncle Phil

I groan while I hear Tally sob. That was the day of the school play! Gah! How many things have I got into?!

Chapter 5

Tally's stopped crying. "I just think I can't stand it!" she says to me after school. "Amy! I can't stand her!" I sigh for the hundredth time. "Couldn't you just like her?" I ask. We were at this ice-cream shop mom sent us here for a treat, since we're friends again. Tally has a cucumber ice-cream. I got a triple vanilla and single caramel and strawberry syrup. Tally licked her ice-cream. "You made her not like you. Do you get me?" I explained. Tally nods and gives another lick of the cream. But I continued, "Oh, and you made Amy hate me!"

"Yeah, but that wasn't my fault. You're the one who showed her the letter!" she shoots back. OK, that was true. But it was kinda by accident. "It was by accident. I didn't know she was peering over my shoulder!" I point out. Tally shrugs and doesn't say anything at all. "Time to go, girls!" Mom calls from the window of the shop. Tally and I scrambled to the door.

"I need to make it up to her,"

"Why are we in this, again?"

"Listen, Amy isn't speaking to me so here goes-give this note to her and run away, not saying anything. I don't care who does it, as long as it's not me or Tally because she's obviously just going to ignore us," I say to them. Dan and Sam were my only option. I tell them to give the note to Amy, not saying anything and I'll cross my fingers that she'll accept it. "GO!" I hissed when the bell for lunch went. Dan gobsmacked the letter from Sam and both went running to Amy's class. I drew a sigh of relief. I had quit the school play because mom let me because of our visit to Uncle Phil's Farm visit. Amy's STILL not speaking to me! I can't believe this. I just hope the plan will work.

Chapter 6

Well, the plan backfired or should I say: DIDN'T WORK!!!! Amy's still REGRETING IT! What should I DO?!
